The changes I would do to my study program
Well, I would do so many changes in here… for start we have
so little space here, it’s like all the four majors are overcrowded, we don’t
even have a decent place to have lunch… I mean, almost every microwave has its
plate missing and others are just too old that they don’t heat up the food
anymore. One of the couches that we have is broken, you practically sink in it.
Following with the previous idea of being overcrowded, the classrooms are not
big enough for some classes or something in the classroom does not work right (like
the projector, the audio or the air conditioner).
We also don’t have appropriate training locations for each
selection of the faculty, some of us have to go and train elsewhere. Like me,
for example, I practice taekwondo here since last year but we had to move from
here and train elsewhere because we had lack of space. Besides, the authorities
here don’t give the sports the importance they deserve and much less the equipment
they need. And if we don’t have money to buy some balls (soccer, volleyball, handball,
etc.) do you think our labs have the best equipment? Haha NO! We can’t even dream
about it.
That’s enough for infrastructure, let’s talk about the curriculum
now. First of all, we have nonsense requirements to take a subject… with every
single one of them! It’s freaking ridiculous that you have to wait an entire
semester to take again a subject if you failed that one or the one that is
required to take that one, or the requirement of the second, or the requirement
of that one and it goes on and on. You fail just one subject and you are automatically
going to graduate a year after. Second, almost all the teachers don’t know how
to teach. Don’t get me wrong, they can know a lot about their area of expertise
but they are just not able to transmit their knowledge.
The list goes on and on with the things I’d like to change
or complain but I’d end tomorrow, so I’ll leave it ‘till here for now.
A lot of teachers have a doctorate but they do not have the skills for teaching :(
