The changes I would do to my study program

Well, I would do so many changes in here… for start we have so little space here, it’s like all the four majors are overcrowded, we don’t even have a decent place to have lunch… I mean, almost every microwave has its plate missing and others are just too old that they don’t heat up the food anymore. One of the couches that we have is broken, you practically sink in it. Following with the previous idea of being overcrowded, the classrooms are not big enough for some classes or something in the classroom does not work right (like the projector, the audio or the air conditioner). We also don’t have appropriate training locations for each selection of the faculty, some of us have to go and train elsewhere. Like me, for example, I practice taekwondo here since last year but we had to move from here and train elsewhere because we had lack of space. Well guys, this time I will give my opinion about 4 polemic topics. Let’s start with tattoos, to be honest, I love them hahaha my biggest sister has two and I’d like to get one (or two or three or several) myself. One of my biggest problems is that my mom hates them, she got really mad when she found out that my sister got her first tattoo but not so much when she found out about the second one. In my opinion, tattoos look amazing and it’s up to each one of us to get or not get one. Now let’s talk about legalizing marijuana and other drugs. Well, I think marijuana should be legalized and not just for medical reasons, recreational’s too. By the way, I am not just talking about the consumption/possession or buying/selling, but planting too, I mean, it’s so much safer to plant your own stuff then buying to someone and having no idea of what you are buying. Refering to animal testing, I think it shouldn’t exist and if it does, then it should be punished. We are animals too, we should...

My second option for a major

My entire childhood I wanted to be a teacher, I switched into many specialties, first I wanted to be a math teacher, then I switched into chemistry , then into biology, but I always wanted to investigate too. When I was on Cuarto Medio I had some sort of vocational crisis and I had a chat with my chemistry and biology teachers that were actually one of the main reasons why I wanted to be one of them. Mister Sergio, my chemistry teacher, one day came into the classroom and practically yelled at me I should study Biochemistry, so I looked into it and I loved it, it has everything I want, investigation, teaching and biology and chemistry that are two of the subjects I loved the most, and also is always related to English that is one of the languages that I love. When I talked to Miss Paulina, my biology teacher, she told me that I could do it, that she believed in me to make it happen, that it could be a good major to study and that it has everything that I want to be. Postgraduate studieees!

Well, this time the topic I will talk about the postgraduate studies I want to do. First of all, I’d like to get a Master’s degree in Immunology or or Microbiology something related to that.  Then I’d like to get a PhD also related to that topic. A Master in Biochemistry looks interesting too. I feel very attracted to the area of Clinical Biochemistry. And I’d like to study anywhere but here hahaha I think that Chile does not give science the credits it deserves, unlike other countries that actually pay people to go there to study. My plan is to go to another country to study, like UK or USA or even Australia, I don’t know, I’d like a country that speaks English as main language. The whole area of immunology and clinical biochemistry is very attractive to me, I think is a very good way to actually help people and I’m not saying that other don’t help people but that way you are in constant contact with them in clinical trials or so. What I want to be...

This time I will talk to you about what I hope to be my future. When I was a kid I wanted to be a math teacher, then I switched to biology and chemistry teacher and finally I chose Biochemistry as my major.  I haven´t gave up the idea of teaching tho, it still on my mind when I think about my future, but I felt that there was something missing when I thought about just being a teacher. I love investigating, I mean… the idea of discovering something that could help millions of people is mind blowing. In Chile scientists don’t earn much money and there are just a few jobs, making science in Chile is just for those who have the vocation to, I mean if you are a scientist in Chile you don’t know if you will get a job, or if it will be well paid. One of the main goals I have is to travel around the world. I don’t care how as long as I visit a lot of countries, my desire is to visit Europe and I think I could apply to some fellowships to make it happen. The area of investig...

The songs that I like

To start I’m going to say that music is very important for me, it has been with me in my best and worst moments. I like a lot of different genres too, but there are a few songs that have marked me for life. When I was 4 years old my grandfather on my mom’s side died of cancer and in the funeral two songs were played that I remember the most, Mi Viejo by Piero and Con una pala y un sombrero by Gervasio… every time I hear one of these two song I want to cry and I get really nostalgic but they remind me of my grandfather and I can feel him right here by my side. Another song that I really like is The Climb by Miley Cyrus, it has a great lesson, it teaches you not to give up, to always push harder, to always have faith in ourselves and that it doesn´t really matter how much time it takes you to achieve something you can´t ever give up on it. The saga that I lovee!

I have loved movies my whole life, almost every kind of them, the only kind I don’t like is horror but just because I get scared to easily, but I can be convinced to watch one tho. I have three favorite kinds: action, romance and musicals. Given the fact that I like a lot of movies it is very difficult to me to choose just one, I will talk about a saga… THE Fast & Furious saga, it is mainly an action, crime and suspense saga. There are eight movies at the time, but there are two more confirmed, the 9 th for April 10 th of 2020 and the 10 th and last April 12 th of 2021 for it’s 20 th anniversary. It takes place all around the world, and I really mean all around the world I mean, yeah a lot happens in USA, but F&F: Tokyo Drift for example develops in Tokyo and Fast Five develops in Rio de Janeiro.
